After being approached by specialists in temporary construction, Neptunus, Jeroen Backx and his company were given the honor of producing a very special event: the NATO Meeting of Heads of State and/or Government 2017 on May 25, 2017 in Brussels.
This meeting, where 29 heads of government came together to discuss various matters of international importance, and officially open the new NATO Headquarters was the ‘Champions League of Production’ according to Production World owner Jeroen Backx. He spoke about working on such a high-profile event: “I have never worked under such a high security level before. Everyone who worked for us (about 760 people) was screened and checked beforehand, as was all the material that we brought in.”
“We were involved in all aspects of this event: from the design, project management and scenography, to the construction and dismantling. The set-up alone took about two months. There were many other things involved in organising such a high-quality event, for example, the opening of the new headquarters had to be arranged, as well as the unveiling of two monuments by Angela Merkel and Donald Trump.”
